A plan to build a cinema and shops in Tonbridge town centre has received the support of councillors.
Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council voted to proceed with a legal agreement with Sainsbury's over the development.
It would see the existing Sainsbury's store enlarged, a multi-screen cinema and new shops built, and a new community centre.
The council said it would work with the supermarket chain to develop a detailed scheme before submitting applications.
