Fire crews were called to Worthing Pier after a member of the public spotted flames
A fire on Worthing Pier is thought to have been started by a discarded cigarette butt.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue were called to the Victorian structure after smoke was seen coming from the western side on Saturday night.
Fire crews discovered a fire had started in an external cavity wall of a building, causing minor damage. No-one was injured.
Both of Shoreham's RNLI crews were also launched to help fight the flames.
