Brighton 'Covid-breach' gathering dispersed by police

Police secured a property in Providence Place

Police have shut down a gathering of about 50 people who were found at community centre in Brighton.

Officers went to Providence Place on Friday evening after a member of the public raised the alert.

Sussex Police said the gathering breached Covid regulations and a dispersal order was issued.

A spokesman for the force said the property was secured and the organiser reported for summons for a breach of the Coronavirus Act.
