Hay bale and barn fires on farms in East Sussex were started deliberately, police have said.

The fires at Beddingham, Alfriston, Tarring Neville and Litlington happened between 2 and 7 November.

Police are working with the fire service to find who is responsible and have increased patrols in the area.

Sgt Jon Attfield from the Sussex Police rural crime team described the attacks as "disturbing".

"This is a highly destructive crime that impacts our farming community and livestock supplies," he said.
