Brighton: Man, 22, in hospital after stabbing in city centre

A 22-year-old man was taken to hospital with "significant injuries" after being stabbed in the centre of Brighton, police said.

Sussex Police said it was called to the scene of the attack in Trafalgar Street at about 03:50 BST on Monday.

The force said officers were carrying out extensive searches in the area and there would be a heightened police presence while inquiries continued.

Anyone with any information has been asked to report it online or via 101.

The attack comes after a fatal stabbing on Thursday, just a few minutes' walk from Trafalgar Street, in Queen's Road.

Mustafa Momand, 17, died following the attack and a 16-year-old-boy was arrested on suspicion of murder.
