An 18-year-old woman has died and a man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Hastings.
Police were called at about 23:20 BST on Friday to reports of a single-vehicle collision on the A21 at Kent Street.
A white Seat Leon Cupra is understood to have left the carriageway and hit a tree, Sussex Police said.
The woman, a passenger in the car, died at the scene and her next of kin are being supported by specialist officers.
The driver - a 27-year-old man - was taken to hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
