Four fire crews have been sent to a blaze in a lorry trailer, East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said.

The blaze in a vehicle in Station Road, Heathfield was reported at about 05:35 GMT, the fire service said.

Firefighters from Uckfield, Crowborough, Pevensey and Barcombe were sent to the scene.

People were advised to avoid the area, and smoke was affecting a neighbouring commercial building, the fire service said.

People posted on social media saying they had heard "loud bangs" in the area.

The blaze was extinguished and fire crews left the scene at about 08:00.
