Hailsham: Man charged with murder after hit-and-run death

Jack Field killed when he was hit by a car as he walked in Hailsham, police say

A man has been charged with murder after a 24-year-old man was killed in a hit-and run crash.

Jack Field was hit by a car in Diplocks Walk, off Western Road in Hailsham, Sussex, at about 23:00 GMT on Saturday, and died at the scene.

A second man was also injured, Sussex Police said.

Kyle Dumble, 26, of no fixed address, has been charged with murder, attempted GBH with intent, disqualified driving and driving without insurance.

He is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court later.

A 32-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on conditional bail.

Det Ch Insp Alex Campbell said: "We are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or events leading up to it, or anyone with pictures or footage that could help, to contact police."
