Hastings: Stagecoach diverts buses due to vandalism

Stagecoach buses will divert from an area of Bohemia Road, in Hastings, East Sussex

A bus operator has stopped serving part of a seaside town in East Sussex due to repeated vandalism, it has said.

Stagecoach has decided to divert services from the White Rock Gardens area on Bohemia Road after 16:00 GMT "until further notice".

The company said it regrets any inconvenience caused as a result of the decision.

"The safety of our customers and staff is our number one priority," they added.

The operator said services 99, 100, 101, 349 and 1066 will divert via Cornwallis Gardens, Linton Road and Amherst Road in both directions.The following stops along Bohemia Road will not be served:

  • St Peter's Church, opposite and adjacent

  • Fire Station, opposite and adjacent

  • Magdalen Road, adjacent

  • Summerfields Leisure Centre, opposite and adjacent

  • White Rock Gardens, opposite and adjacent
