Peacehaven: PC in court over crash that killed man

A police officer accused of causing death by dangerous driving after a man was struck by a police car and died has appeared in court.

Arthur Hölscher-Ermert, 27, was hit by a Sussex Police car on the A259 in Peacehaven on 30 April 2022.

PC Christopher Corker was charged following an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

The 39-year-old, of Shandon Road, Worthing, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

PC Corker, who spoke only to confirm his name, age and address, has indicated a not guilty plea, the court was told.

The police officer was granted unconditional bail to appear at the Old Bailey on February 6.
