A leisure centre in West Sussex has undergone a £765,000 refurbishment.

The renovations at The Triangle in Burgess Hill include upgraded gym facilities and a £200,000 investment into the installation of a solar photovoltaic system.

Mid Sussex District Council said it provided members with new innovative, environmentally-friendly facilities.

Councillor Chris Hobbs said the improvements would make the district a "healthier and happier place".

As part of the refurbishment, new gym equipment has been installed, the sports hall has been renovated and a refurbished Costa store has reopened.

Mr Hobbs, the cabinet member for leisure and customer services, said: "The addition of these new facilities will enhance our community's well-being and play a significant role in making our district a healthier and happier place.

"This investment is a step towards making inclusive, sustainable and outstanding spaces for everyone and we look forward to all future improvements in our leisure centres and creating a vibrant, healthy district."

The facility is owned by the council and run by Places Leisure.
