Hove: Girl, 16, held on suspicion of arson at Blatchington Mill School

A 16-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following a fire at a secondary school in Hove.

Sussex Police launched an investigation along with East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) after the blaze broke out at Blatchington Mill School at about 17:40 GMT on Wednesday.

The force confirmed the teenager from Hove was arrested on Wednesday. She remains in police custody.

No injuries were reported.

A police spokesperson said the school was "fully co-operating" with their inquiries.

The school said it will be closed on Thursday and Friday, and asked people to check their website for further updates.
