A historic Sussex seaside attraction has been named Railway of the Year.
Volk's Electric Railway, which runs along the seafront in Brighton, was given the accolade by the Heritage Railway Association.
Founded in 1883, the tourist attraction beat off 200 heritage railways across the UK to the title.
A railway spokesperson described the win as a "tremendous honour" and said that the team were "absolutely thrilled".
Running for a mile along Brighton seafront, Volk's Electric Railway claims to be the world's oldest operating electric railway.
Reflecting on the achievement, railway manager James Barton said: "Winning Railway of the Year is a tremendous honour and we're absolutely thrilled to receive this recognition.
"I would like to thank our wonderful staff and volunteers whose passion and dedication are without parallel. I'd also like to thank all of our visitors.
"Their support not only upholds the legacy of our railway but also plays a pivotal role in preserving the rich history and charm that make Volk's Electric Railway an integral part of Brighton's cultural heritage."
