Joseph Scott given hospital order after killing mother in St Leonards

Joseph Scott admitted killing his mother Ann in Hollington Old Lane, St Leonards in January 2023
A teenager who killed his mother has been given a hospital order.
Joseph Scott, 18, from Hoads Wood Road, Hastings, East Sussex, pleaded guilty to manslaughter by means of diminished responsibility at Lewes Crown Court on 18 December.
He admitted killing Ann Scott, 57, at her home in Hollington Old Lane, St Leonards,on 11 January 2023.
Her family described her as "inspirational".
In a statement released by police they said: "We will forever be affected by the traumatic nature and preventable circumstances of Ann's death."
