Three people were taken to hospital after a tree fell and hit a bus and van

Three people have been taken to hospital after a tree fell and hit a bus and van in West Sussex.

Emergency service crews were called to the incident in Guildford Road, Horsham, at about 12.45 GMT.

South East Coast Ambulance Service said its crews, including a hazardous area response team, attended.

It said six people were assessed and treated for injuries believed to be minor, three of whom were taken to hospital.

Metrobus operations director Gordon Frost said: "Due to high winds, a tree fell onto a moving vehicle at Farthings Hill, Horsham."
