A bench in memory of a Teesside MP has been unveiled in one of his favourite spots.

Labour MP for Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland Ashok Kumar was found dead of natural causes at his home in Marton in March at the age of 53.

The memorial bench, which was unveiled in a ceremony on Saturday, faces the sea on Saltburn's upper promenade.

The bench was suggested by friends who knew he loved the area and said it was somewhere he went regularly.
