Stockton Council has set aside £200,000 to build a new park for skateboarders, BMX and scooter riders.

Plans for John Whitehead Park, Billingham, are well under way, but the council also wants to create other smaller parks in the area.

The council is also considering developing dirt jumps and tracks for BMX and mountain bikes at country parks or other green spaces.

Last year 400 young people completed a survey on possible sites.
