Woman trapped in County Durham house fire dies

A woman has died in a house fire in County Durham.
It happened at 13:00 BST on Honister Place in Newton Aycliffe, where the 65-year-old victim was trapped.
The woman, who has not been named, was rescued from the house and taken by ambulance to Darlington Memorial Hospital where she later died.
A 37-year-old man was also taken from the building and remains at the hospital. He is not believed to be seriously hurt.
An investigation is under way as to the cause of the fire.
