A misconduct hearing for Cleveland's suspended deputy chief constable is expected to last up to three weeks.

Derek Bonnard, 49, was accused of gross misconduct along with the force's chief constable Sean Price.

Mr Price, 55, was sacked after an inquiry by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

A hearing into seven allegations of gross misconduct against Mr Bonnard, who denies any wrongdoing, will begin on 12 November.

Cleveland Police Authority said it would be held in private.

The allegations surround the misuse of public funds and corporate credit cards.

One matter of potential gross misconduct has been deferred pending the outcome of the wider criminal investigation ongoing by Operation Sacristy.

Mr Bonnard, who was arrested on 3 August 2011, has since been released from bail but remains suspended from duty.
