Durham Tees Valley Airport to resubmit funding bid

Durham Tees Valley Airport has said it will reapply for Government cash for a development project aimed at safeguarding its future operations.
It follows a failed bid for £5.9m from the Regional Growth Fund in 2012.
Airport chiefs are now hoping they will be successful during the next round of funding, in which a total of £350m is up for grabs.
The airport has earmarked the site for a proposed freight terminal development.
Robert Hough, the airport chairman, said: "It is vital for the future of Durham Tees Valley that we develop the full potential of the whole site.
"Funding through the Regional Growth Fund would enable us to provide a link between the existing airport activities on the north side of the runway and the new employment land to the south."
