South Tees NHS staff get paid three days late

The trust had said it would honour any bank charges caused by the delay

Thousands of hospital staff at an NHS trust have received their pay three days late after an error caused delays.

Salaries of about 8,500 workers at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust were not paid on Friday due to "human error".

Chief executive Tricia Hart said she could only "personally apologise" to every member of staff.

The trust runs James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough and the Friarage in Northallerton.

The trust previously said it would honour any bank charges caused by the delay.
