People in Darlington are being asked for their views on possible ward boundary changes.
The independent Local Government Boundary Commission is "minded" to reduce the number of councillors by three to 50.
Views are being sought to help to draw up a new pattern of council wards for Darlington Council.
People have until 10 December to submit their views. Any changes would come into effect in 2015.
It is drawing up new boundaries so that each councillor would represent roughly the same number of voters.
The draft of recommendations is expected in March 2014.
