A couple who had Christmas decorations stolen from their front garden have released CCTV footage of the theft.

Geoff and Tina Patchett, from Redcar in Teesside, lost ornaments including a Santa, a large gnome and assorted snowmen, worth hundreds of pounds.

All were part of a charity display to raise money for RNLI.

Mr Patchett described those responsible as "scum" and said he hoped the footage, from the couple's own CCTV cameras, would help police trace them.

Two men can be seen removing the items, early on Friday.

'Pinching enjoyment'

"They don't look bothered", Mr Patchett said.

"They are going about their business, they are taking stuff without a care in the world.

"We have been collecting for a number of years and we have built the display up.

"We do it for the charity, kids love it, adults love it and they come from all over.

"They are not just pinching from me, they are pinching the enjoyment of other people."
