A killer has been found four days after going missing from a secure hospital.
Michael Errington, 51, left Priory Hospital in Middleton St George, near Darlington, at 08:00 BST on 27 April.
He was found by police in the St Leonards area of Edinburgh at about 14:30.
Errington, who has been at the Priory for nine years after serving 18 years in jail for manslaughter, left the hospital on approved leave but did not return.
Durham Police and Police Scotland confirmed he had been found.
The Durham force previously warned Errington could be "aggressive and unpredictable" without his medication.
