The Grade II-listed chapel, also damaged in a fire in 2017, is being turned into a hotel.

Three more teenagers have been arrested after a fire at a Grade II-listed former chapel turned nightclub.

The inside and some external walls of the Wesley Chapel in Hartlepool were damaged in the fire on 7 November.

Three boys, aged 14, have been arrested on suspicion of arson and released on bail, Cleveland Police said.

Last week, a 16-year-old boy and two 15-year-olds were arrested on suspicion of arson and released on conditional bail.

Police are looking for anyone with information or footage from the area, from about 16:45 GMT to 17:30 GMT on 7 November.

Work had started this year to redevelop the church, external at the end of Victoria Road into a luxury hotel.

The chapel had stood empty since an arson attack in 2017.

There was a small fire at the same site a few weeks ago, although it was successfully contained.
