Scheme tackles Prudhoe flooding risk

The second phase of a £400,000 scheme to try and prevent flooding in a Northumberland town is set to begin.

Northumbrian Water said work to protect vulnerable homes in Rolley Way, Prudhoe, has been completed.

An upgrade to protect properties in Castlefields Drive, will begin on 6 June and take three months.

A spokesman for the company said workers replacing pipes would try to keep disruption to a minimum and traffic management would be in place.
