Metro cleaners begin new 48-hour strike

Tyne and Wear Metro cleaners are taking part in a 48-hour strike over a pay dispute.
Transport union RMT confirmed cleaners working for Churchill were beginning their strike on Sunday night and it would end at midnight on Tuesday.
RMT claims Churchill has offered no increase in basic pay, despite a rise in profits.
DB Regio Tyne and Wear, which operates the Metro on behalf of Nexus, said contingencies were in place.
This is the third time Tyne and Wear cleaners have taken industrial action in the pay row.
