Dragons roar for Newcastle's Chinese New Year celebrations

Thousands of people flocked to the centre of Newcastle to mark the Chinese New Year.

Dragon and lion dances around Stowell Street's Chinese Arch ushered in the Year of the Sheep alongside traditional crafts, dance, music and food and drink.

Festivities got under way at 11:00 GMT and ran until 16:00.
