Woman charged with murder of tied, beaten and stabbed man

A 19-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of a man who was tied up and beaten in his home.

Mark Shaw, 29, was found dead by police in an upstairs bedroom of his house in Grange Villa, near Chester-le-Street, County Durham, in December.

Mr Shaw died from a stab wound but had also been subjected to an assault in his Pine Street home.

Zoe Warren, who was arrested in Washington, Tyne and Wear, appeared at Peterlee Magistrates' Court.

She was remanded in custody and will appear at Newcastle Crown Court on Monday.

In December, Kieran Adey, 19, of Grange Villa, was also charged with murder and is set to face trial in June.
