Thousands of rugby league fans have arrived in Newcastle as the sport's Magic Weekend gets under way.

It is the third year in a row the city has staged the showpiece event, with organisers once again hoping for an attendance of more than 60,000.

The event sees an entire round of Super League matches played over one weekend in the same stadium.

Three games are being played on Saturday with a further three to follow on Sunday.
