Horden delivery driver death: Two men charged

The daughter of a delivery driver who died in a County Durham street has paid tribute to her father and said his family's "hearts are broken".

Two men have been charged with the manslaughter of James Andrew Coyles, 54, who died in the Handley Street area of Horden, on Sunday morning.

A 43-year-old man from Hartlepool and a 41-year-old man from Peterlee have also been charged with theft.

Mr Coyles' daughter Katie said his family would continue making him proud.

The 43-year-old man has also been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm after a police officer was injured.

The pair appeared before Peterlee Magistrates' Court earlier where they were remanded in custody.

They are next due at Durham Crown Court on 19 April.

Officers and paramedics attended the scene at about 11:30 GMT on Sunday, and confirmed Mr Coyles had died.

"There will never be the words to describe the way we feel," his daughter said in a statement.

"Nothing ever prepares you for this hurt and pain," she added.

"It's only see you later, Dad. It's not goodbye."
