Woman dies in Tantobie house fire

A woman has died in a house fire in County Durham.

The blaze broke out in a property on Unity Terrace in Tantobie, near Stanley, in the early hours of Sunday.

The woman, who was aged in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene, Durham Police said.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the blaze, although the force added it was not currently being treated as suspicious.
