A joint investigation between the fire service and Northumbria Police is under way.

'We are a family'
TWFRS area manager Ian Robinson praised his team, adding: "It was a long night with the darkness meaning tackling the fire was even more difficult.
"Our priority was to ensure the fire didn't spread to the nearby homes, and also to preserve as much of the historic pub as we could."
The owners of Albion Gin and Ale House posted on Facebook, external that the staff were "all absolutely heartbroken".
"We are a more than just a pub, we are a family," they said.
