Work to reduce the risk of flooding to homes in a County Durham town is under way.
Northumbrian Water is spending £752,000 on an upgrade of the sewerage network in Stanley.
The five-month improvement scheme will protect properties on Lenin Terrace and Holly Hill Gardens East.
There will be rolling road closures in the area while 1,760ft (536m) of new sewer pipe is installed, and local bus services will be diverted.
