Jordan Cooper died in hospital
A Wearside man charged with the murder of his 14-year-old nephew has appeared at crown court for the first time.
Alan Cooper, 31, was arrested after Jordan Cooper was found with stab wounds at a house in Newriggs, Washington, on Tuesday.
Mr Cooper made a brief appearance at Newcastle Crown Court on Friday and was remanded in custody until 18 May. No application for bail was made.
A post-mortem examination found Jordan died from multiple stab wounds.
