The Wiltshire Air Ambulance and police helicopter will be out of action for more than two weeks when it undergoes its annual service.
The aircraft, which is shared between Wiltshire Police and Great Western Ambulance Service, will not be replaced between 30 August and 17 September.
A police spokesman said both services could ask neighbouring counties for help if air support was needed.
The air ambulance is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
