Wiltshire Police appoints new deputy chief constable
- Published
A new deputy chief constable has been appointed at Wiltshire Police following the death of David Ainsworth.
Patrick Geenty will take over the role from Mr Ainsworth, the previous post holder who died in March this year.
Mr Geenty, who joined the police service in 1983, has been in the role on a temporary basis since that time.
He said he was "delighted" at his appointment in a force which has made "such excellent progress".
Mr Geenty served in Gloucestershire and Humberside before joining Wiltshire Police as assistant chief constable in April 2009.
