Power cuts in Salisbury area affect 400 homes
- Published
Up to 400 homes in the Salisbury area of Wiltshire are still without electricity after power cables were brought down in strong winds.
Shrewton, Coombe Bassett, Stapleford, Berwick St James, Winterbourne Stoke and Broadchalke are all affected.
Up to 1,500 homes were affected when power went off at different times in the area between 02:30 and 08:00 GMT.
A Southern Electric spokesman confirmed power would not be restored to the homes until at least midnight.
There are four main faults to overhead power lines and the spokesman said engineers were working to repair them.
