Work to improve Swindon's pedestrian and cycle links

Pedestrian and cycle links to industrial sites in Swindon are to be improved as part of a £525,000 scheme.
Work to replace an "informal dirt track" accessing the Techno Trading Estate is to start at the end of June.
While work on a pedestrian footpath and cycle route along Highworth Road to the South Marston Industrial Estate will begin in August.
Councillor Keith Williams said they would "give more reasons for businesses to locate or stay in Swindon".
"Swindon has a very good record in providing cycle routes in particular, and the town has one of the most extensive networks in the South," said Mr Williams, cabinet member for leisure and strategic transport.
"These new routes will give people sustainable choices about how they travel to work, and give more reasons for businesses to locate or stay in Swindon."
The project is being partly funded by the National Lottery via the sustainable transport charity SUSTRANS.
