Dyson to recruit 250 new engineers in Malmesbury

Engineering firm Dyson is to recruit 250 new research and development staff at its headquarters in Wiltshire.

The move comes as the company announced a 20% growth in profits last year, taking its annual turnover to £1.2bn.

Sir James Dyson's company said it needs extra engineers to improve its current products and to produce new ones for the future.

The new recruits will join 850 engineers who already work at the Malmesbury site.

Sir James Dyson said the company is growing because it continues to make "robust investment" in research and development.

"We have been developing Dyson digital motors in Malmesbury for 15 years and we are now harnessing them to make smaller, more efficient machines," he added.
