'Idiot in Devizes' shone laser at Wiltshire's air ambulance helicopter

Wiltshire Air Ambulance has posted an open message on Twitter to the "idiot in Devizes" who shone a laser at its helicopter as it prepared to land.

The post, which appeared on the micro-blogging site on Tuesday, added whoever did it had "no idea how dangerous that was".

Wiltshire Police confirmed the force is investigating the allegation

A Civil Aviation Authority spokesman said helicopters were "particularly vulnerable" to lasers.
