A large fire has broken out at a recycling plant in Wiltshire, affecting about 1,000 tonnes of rubbish.

Five crews from Wiltshire Fire and Rescue were called to Averies Recycling Plant in Swindon just before 18:00 BST.

A skip lorry is also ablaze and firefighters have also protected a nearby storage site for gas cylinders so it does not catch fire.

People living nearby are being advised to keep doors and windows shut due to the resulting volume of black smoke.
