A patient in Wiltshire suspected to have Ebola has tested negative for the virus, it has been confirmed.

The patient, from South Cerney in Gloucestershire, was transported to Swindon's Great Western Hospital on Saturday after returning to the UK from West Africa.

The patient was kept in isolation while samples were taken.

A Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust spokeswoman confirmed the patient tested negative for Ebola.
