Teenage girl sexually assaulted in Swindon underpass

The girl was attacked in the underpass between Station Road and the Oasis Leisure Centre on Saturday night

An 18-year-old girl has been sexually assaulted in an underpass in Swindon.

Police described the attack, between Station Road and the Oasis Leisure Centre on Saturday night, as "serious".

The victim had approached door staff at a local nightclub following the attack, who called police on her behalf.

The underpass was sealed off for several hours to allow officers to search for evidence. Officers are currently reviewing CCTV footage.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman has appealed for anyone who was in the area between 22:00 GMT and midnight on Saturday to contact the force.
