Two brothers who operated a recycling site where a fire burned for two months, have pleaded not guilty to breaching environmental legislation.

Lee and David Averies appeared before Swindon Crown Court accused of breaking the conditions of their waste permits.

They were also charged by the Environment Agency with offences relating to the storage of waste at two sites they ran in Swindon.

Both men were bailed. A date for the trial is yet to be set.

The pair ran Averies Recycling Ltd, at Marshgate, and Swindon Skips Ltd, Cheney Manor, which have since gone into administration.
