A witness said she found Owen Dunn lying on the floor and went over to ask him if he was okay

A woman who was the first to find an 18-year-old after he was stabbed said she heard the moment he stopped breathing, a court has heard.

Owen Dunn died on a Swindon street after being stabbed on 4 December 2022.

Tyler Hunt, 18, of Princess Cottages, Swindon, and a 15-year-old boy who cannot be named, both deny his murder.

Abbie Fuller described during their trial at Bristol Crown Court how she found Mr Dunn lying on the floor.

She said she was walking to the shops with her young son when she found him.

The court heard that she went over and asked him if he was okay, but he could not talk.

Ms Fuller said she saw blood on his left side and on the floor, and his bike was on the floor next to him.

When another man came over to help, she said she phoned for an ambulance.

While on the phone, they asked if the boy was breathing and that was when she heard him gasp and then stop breathing, the court heard.

Ms Fuller added that two more women came over to help and started CPR on Mr Dunn, until the ambulance and police arrived.

The court heard that Owen Dunn had been in cardiac arrest for 22 minutes until everyone agreed to stop efforts to resuscitating him

Andrew Graham, a paramedic who attended the scene, testified that he got the call at 13:35 GMT and arrived by 13:37.

He said when he arrived at the scene, he was flagged down by multiple people and he found one woman doing CPR on the boy.

At first glance, Mr Dunn's wound appeared to be a two to three inch gash with blood coming out of it, Mr Graham said.

He found a machete in a sheath tucked down Mr Dunn's trousers and immediately notified police.

When the patient had been in cardiac arrest for 22 minutes, paramedics agreed to cease efforts to resuscitate him.

At 13:58 he was declared dead, the court heard.

Owen Dunn and Melissa Beeton were due to celebrate their first anniversary of being a couple

Stephen Robinson testified as a witness in court.

He described how he was outside the front of his house putting up some Christmas lights when he saw two young people on bikes ride past.

They were dressed all in black, had their hoods up and were wearing balaclavas.

Mr Robinson told court that the cyclists were shouting, which was what made him look at them.

One was saying "quick, quick" a number of times, the court heard.

The trial continues.
