A new health centre aimed at helping people with sight loss is to open.

Run by Wiltshire Sight, the first phase of the new hub on Fore Street, Trowbridge, will begin on 8 December with the opening of its new shop.

The centre's resource centre for appointments and drop-in consultations will open in January.

Wiltshire Sight charity CEO Mike Silvery said the new hub will enable it to provide better services in the area for those affected by vision issues.

"We are excited about our third Wiltshire Sight shop and are incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped make this happen - our supporters, our volunteers and those who have generously donated such high-quality stock," he added.

"As a small local charity, we rely on members of our community supporting us, and they really have done us proud," he added.

The new hub will include wide pathways, a confidential space for appointments and different technology and living equipment for people to try, including lighting, magnification tools, kitchen equipment and reading aids.
