A family have paid tribute to a "beloved husband" who died after being hit by a car in Chippenham town centre.

Justin Edhouse, 49, has been named as the pedestrian involved in the incident in the Wiltshire town on 17 December.

Emergency services were called to the junction of Gladstone Road and Avenue La Fleche at about 17:20 GMT.

Wiltshire Police are appealing for the driver of a red vehicle thought to have been at the scene to come forward.

In a tribute, Mr Edhouse's family said: "Justin was a beloved husband, son, brother and uncle who will be sorely missed by not just his wife, family, friends and colleagues but by everyone who ever knew him."

Mr Edhouse's family are being supported by specialist trained officers and have asked for any donations to be made to Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Wiltshire Police added.

The force said it is keen to hear from the driver of a red vehicle who may have witnessed the incident or recorded it on their dashcam.

The car may have turned left onto Gladstone Street, officers said.
