A bid for more than 160 homes in a commuter town have been given the final sign-off.

Plans for the layout and appearance of the 163-home estate in Devizes, Wiltshire, were approved last month.

Developer Pegasus Group said the design had "evolved" and that the development would be predominantly made up of two-storey buildings.

The layout shows a central park area, as well as a "southern wildlife corridor" and new access roads.

Wiltshire Council gave outline planning permission for the development in March 2023, the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) said.

The applicant said: "The layout of the site should be designed to create distinctive, defined building lines and facades along the proposed primary access road, along Marshall and Nursteed Road, as well as facing onto green spaces."

Car parking would be "encouraged" in parking courts and "other off-road locations", it added.

It said "feature buildings" would also be be placed around the site, ensuring that there was "variation and a distinctiveness", as well as "creating points of interest" throughout.
