Almost 100 drivers were charged with drink or drug-driving during the Christmas period in North Yorkshire.
North Yorkshire Police said it had charged 63 drivers and had processed another 28 through the court system.
Information from the public and known routes were used by police to target drivers.
Traffic Sergeant Pete Stringer said despite being delighted at the arrests he was extremely disappointed people were driving under the influence.
The force said it had conducted a more focused campaign, breathalysing 2,778 people between 1 December and 1 January, more than 1,200 fewer than during the previous year's campaign.
Five people believed to be driving while unfit through drugs are on bail whilst inquiries take place.
Mr Stringer said: "Our approach this time was aimed at trying to catch people who are breaking the law and putting lives at risk, rather than breath testing large numbers of people and in that respect it has been a very successful campaign.
"Although the campaign is over the fight against drink and drug driving certainly is not."
Among the people charged, one 38-year-old woman was four-times over the legal limit and was given a five-year driving ban.
